Tilt top table. African flame mahogany taken from the principal crutch in the tree. This timber is very rare in the solid, being usually cut for veneers to make it go further.

The top is inlaid with an intarsia of black ebony from a small African figurine made for the tourist trade; yellow satinwood from the east Indies cut in blocks for costly hairbrushes and brown Brazilian rosewood. All the woods are recycled as they are now very rare in the remaining forests of the world.
